1959 was a very good year.

: D

I am enjoying your writing and skills, and I rarely confess to envying another woman her good fortune in a man (because generally, what's for me to envy?)...but Bob's cooking expertise lies in popcorn (seriously, though: the best), burritos (all that joint-rolling proved useful in other realms), and oatmeal.

I ain't complainin'. He does damn near everything else, but how nice it would be to have a partner in the kitchen.

So how come I'm not better at stuffing burritos? At least I have an edge on Jaden's ginger storage technique (http://steamykitchen.com/blog/2007/12/02/fresh-ginger-tips/ )

Thanks, Tana!

I'm not far removed from '59 myself. My mom has a copy of the Given book when it was published in a single volume. I think hers is from '49 and she still uses it!

I've always enjoyed cooking, but the more I learn, the more I love it. Plus, it's a great way to spend time with my bride.

Lisa, that's a helluva Bob Marley ginger roll, mon!
